The event last year was very fulfilling. It gave me great joy to be able to contribute to young man fresh college experience by providing him supplies and things necessary to success. It is understated, how important things such as socks, notebooks, and even a book bag can make a difference in someone’s life experiences. I would not hesitate to be a part of this event again!

It has been said that “It takes a village to raise a child…” which speaks to the true power of community. It is a blessing to know that, right here in our community, we have the Good Shephard Outreach and Resource Center to be that village, not just for the children but for all of us. It is more important than ever for us to connect with one another and bond with our neighbors, for example at the Neighborhood Hangouts. That is just one of the reasons why I am so grateful to be part of this organization which is committed to providing members of the community with a space where we can come together and share resources and information with one another.
